Julie Bowen, who stars as “Denise Bauer” on the award-winning ABC series BOSTON LEGAL, was raised in Baltimore , Maryland . It was there she caught the acting bug as a child while putting on plays with her two sisters in their backyard.
Bowen attended Brown University , earning a degree in Italian Renaissance studies. Before BOSTON LEGAL, she spent four seasons as a star of the NBC series ED. Her other television credits include a recurring role on ABC's LOST and a nine-episode arc as Noah Wyle's love girlfriend on NBC's E.R.
On the big screen, Bowen was recently seen in the comedy/drama KIDS IN AMERICA. She starred opposite Adam Sandler in the comedy HAPPY GILMORE and appeared with Michael Keaton in MULTIPLICITY. She also starred in AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS and with Tim Allen in JOE SOMEBODY.
Julie's delightful narration of the book, Dewey Doo-it Builds a House , helps raise money for Habitat for Humanity. In addition to tutoring high school students, Julie also supports the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Step Up Women's Network, a nonprofit, membership organization dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls.
